I drove to France last week and despite what the anti-Brexit scaremongers on here said……

We're making a good point till you mentioned 700k the figure for Spain is less than 30k

Thanks, yes realise that. It was more of a throwaway remark, rather than a figure to be taken as needing that much. But you need more for other countries, a lot more.

Was making the point that those with buckets of cash won't have their plans to retire to the sun affected, and they assume that others down the pay scale won't be affected. Those who could still fund themselves abroad, but fall just below an arbitrary income requirement will have their retirement plans in ruins.

Plenty of pensioners go out to the warmer climes of Spain for just three months in winter - was cheaper to live there than the U.K.. My mums uncle used to do that every year. Three months is enough for them.

And I'm guessing they may have enough funds/income to have the CHOICE to go for a long hol or permanently. That's what's been taken away from us - choice. The choice we once enjoyed. The choice we threw away for zilch in return.

But if you have enough funds/income you still have the choice to do that despite Brexit. If you never had the money in the first place, the choice wasn’t an option and is nothing to do with Brexit so what choice exactly has been thrown away?

I take that you voted Remain so you did all you could. Surely you can't expect me to vote for your lifestyle or anyone else's for that matter.

My brother shot himself in the foot. He voted Brexit then retired early due to Covid. Bought himself a camper van and now travels Europe. But only 3 months then has to come home.

At Christmas he will travel with a caravan to Morocco so if he plays it right he can do 9 months away.

What happens to the migrants from Africa if they are in France for more than 3 months?
That's up to France...

Just as it was with the UK when in was the EU...

Brexiteers just don't get it that the UK could have applied EU rules at any time and used it's own sovereign laws under those EU rules...

But the lies are continued by brexiteers because they simply refuse to admit that UK problems were always home grown...

Better in their eyes to blame 'pesky foreigners' than wake up to the truth!

Which bit of 'sovereign countries in the EU' came to an agreement don't you understand?

Any different from the always sovereign nation known as the UK coming to an agreement with Australia and NZ as regards migration/work visa rules?
Came to an agreement, no comment how they came to that agreement, sounds like it's not been concluded but could flare up at any given moment.

Exactly. Any law-abiding non-French citizen would be deported back to where they came from. France should be telling them 'Apply for asylum here or you will be sent back to where you came from' but of course, our wonderful European neighbour doesn’t, do they. They let them get into the hands of the smugglers and risk their lives to get to to the land of milk and honey.

And of course just the same applies to any ruling body/parliament of any sovereign nation that happens to belong to the EU...

But maybe you could you tell us about the current state of relations between the devolved nations in the UK?

'Concluded' and 'could flare up at any given moment'?

Brexiteers know they have lost the argument/plot, but they still need a bit more time to move on from the realisation phase to the 'admitting we screwed up' phase...

It'll happen before the end of the decade...

And voter renewal is a sure thing!

Why should France deal with the UK any differently than any other 'third country'?

And why do brexiteers claim that the the UK is a 'land of milk and honey', when in reality a large part of the population is by definition xenophobic/racist and themselves in self driven poverty!

The economy has tanked, and that is also by their voting actions...

And the reason that many people wish to come here is because of a mutual language and a misguided belief in a long passed sense of fairness!

Think your comparing apples with oranges apart from the fact your talking snp here, who have now become a busted flush.
