Are you seriously saying that until March the WHO did not know what masks did or how they worked and have only learned since?

Why is what they are saying now any more to be taken seriously?


Plus, as I noted, surgical masks should be used in a specific way to be effective.

A dirty - after one use - piece of cloth continually taken off, handled and put back on is not sensible.

It wasn't me, was my friend and he hasn't got means to pay for private treatment.
He worked 45 years non stop and paid hundred of thousands in tax.
Now he can't see a doctor and his arm is going numb.
All because of coronavirus.
How many people have and will die because they haven't been seen during the coronavirus?
How many will be left with permanent conditions which could've been cured if it wasn't for the coronavirus restrictions?
But... it's all worth it, as long as we get another lockdown.

And the best part was that the doctor said he had coronavirus symptoms.

Extending the period where people like your friend won't get help because it's not an emergency.

He can't afford 3-4 physio sessions? Or is it because he's paid tax that you think he deserves it for free? By the way, car insurance covers whiplash injuries. Perhaps he should've claimed.

I visited a supermarket worker on Saturday and she says there has been a sharp uptake in buying since there were rumours of another lockdown. Not quite panic buying but a murmur.

Yep! Delivery slots/collections are getting fewer and further between too. I noticed yesterday that the tesco slots are now just an hour window to collect, rather than 2, I guess to try and meet demand.

I've still got tins of soup from the previous bulk buy! And lots of tins of tomatoes - not needed any since I grew loads of my own!
A winter panic will be a lot tougher though.

It’s a funny old world. The differences of opinion on here are amazing but it’s just not worth throwing insults back & forth like a Corbyn supporter. All it will do is crystallise there opinion.

During the first lockdown, it was hard to find delivery slots from Asda.

At the moment I can choose any day up till the 4th Oct, and virtually any time of day.

Yes our click and collect slots have dropped to 1 hour

Im not sure there will the same panic buying if there is a lockdown, everybody now knows the shortages were just demand side.

A bigger worry is the end of transition where shortages will be supply side.

The "world beating" Smart Freight System wont be up and running until at least April 2021
4 months without a freight handling system, the time of year we rely most on food imports.

I must admit Im buying a little extra each week -just a bag of pasta or similar, not a lot, just a bit of a buffer
