Not lower than 15% though.
Interesting. Some of it reminds me of UK parental companies. There were lots of them. Cadbury was an extreme example - even houses and a better education. A job for life for many, security, sports facilities, even social activities. Lunch - a decent canteen often huge. This attracted people and also allowed them to be selective when choosing people for jobs. Training would usually figure as well - at least for some.I'm not sure that many in this thread are interested in the economy as anything other to whine about, and satisfy their need to re-exress their own tropes.
Anyone who doesn't fall in to one of those might like to hear this podcast, which is a comparison with France:

The term is used by all parties that don't use it but it is having a tendency to creep in."populist"
Yes but. But But but......Well, yes, but that was/is never going to happen anyway. If could have been lowered by 5% at any time, but it wasn't.
And it hasn't now being the point with it being a tax that goes under the radar when tax is being discussed.Well, yes, but that was/is never going to happen anyway. If could have been lowered by 5% at any time, but it wasn't.
Good job it's been reduced now we've left though. Not lower than 15% though.
I thought this was your point,And it hasn't now being the point.
We've always had that ability. When we left the eu it gave us the ability to reduce vat yet it remains the same.
Opting for more tax for better services, tends to be easier if you aren't in the small group of people who already pay most of the taxes.
People tend to want to pay a bit more tax for a lot more service, not a lot more tax for a bit more service.
There has always been a 0% method of business with the EU both ways.Don't forget we can export at zero VAT for use in the EU now we are out.
As stated not lower than 15%.We've always had that ability.
Yes. We now have the ability to do something which won't happen anyway. As stated not lower than 15%.
the point you made was that we could lower the amount. As stated not lower than 15%.
The figure involved is quite a sum of money when you couple it with all the tax the government takes (council tax another that gets lost in the argument)
The question is are we getting vfm and should we paying more tax on what seems a significant figure already.
