Inappropriate Language

I honestly couldn't care less what anyone says to me or about me. It's a game, not real life.
I'm the same and that's life in general but if you have a disability then it's personnel

I would have thought that contributing to a forum is an intellectual contribution, not a physical one. So, if words you don't like are used because they offend you personally then don't hang around on that internet forum.
Most of the contributors on this forum can express themselves well and some do use words offensively but that is 'the nature of the beast'.
I wouldn't ever confess to my mental afflictions on this forum because I wouldn't want to influence what people said. I would prefer to over-ride them and take some of the things said with a pinch of salt. I do find being insulted on this forum doesn't count because when somebody is 'firing off' it speaks volumes for the contributor.

I take it you are referring to my use of it in the maddie thread. The word exists, it's there to be used, and was not addressed to you.
Get over yourself man.

'The word exists, it's there to be used' ?

This is to be taken seriously?

Yes !! You could hardly describe securespark as a ******, the fact that he's complaining about somebody else's use of the word in a thread which had nothing to do with him, simply because he was called that name as a child is ridiculous.
What word shall we ban next? Simply because it may have negative connotations for somebody somewhere.
If people with such delicate sensibilities as securespark get their way we'll all have to proof read whatever we write before submitting it.
Get over yourself securespark you silly wuss.

Okay - leaving all of that aside for the moment , apart from my question .

Is it a serious argument to justify use of a term ?

(ie Because a word exists, it is meant to be used )

I find certain words offensive, although I have never been called them.

The mere presence of a word in a dictionary is not a reason to use it without regard for context or wider ramifications.

I'd like to see an intelligent arugment for using it, if it can be made.

I would like to know why the user Iamamartian I think was able to use the "C" word last night and nothing was done about it. Yet he said I had been mentioned to the "mods" for saying his demeanour was incorrect for a friendly discussion. This was on the item abut the child "Maddie" who was left alone by her parents.
I also think the word ****** is not correct either as there are many who are called it who are far more intelligent than the ones saying it sometimes.

AA he was wrong to report to the mods because he has been up to far worse on other posts in the past but it was late on saturday night and i guess the mods always have a bit of clearing up to come sunday mornings lol :p

Thank you for the reply and explanation. I was rather confused that this language was allowed. I am new here and was looking about and decided to contribute. The language I received for a simple answer was a little beyond belief. I had left another forum for similar as there were conflicts like the one last night and I cannot see any reason why the language should be from the gutter. It seems all sites seem to have their characters.
