IP Addresses thread - strangely turns to a God thread!

I' still waiting for the atheists to tell me where the universe came from. Can't do it eh?
Why assume it came from anywhere?

Because all the evidence seems to indicate, that the universe has not existed forever, but that it had a beginning, about 15 billion years ago.

Strange. My King James bible (yes, I'm an atheist and yet I have a bible; work that one out!) clearly states that the world was created 4004 years before Christ, and that God did it in only six days. Then he went down to the pub for a well-earned pint (I think. I didn't read that far).

Bottom line is that one can respect a belief in a god and a beginning to the universe, life and possibly what happens at the point of death etc. Religions are different entities though which need to be taken wearing sceptical gloves.

I'd love there to be a god. But I'm darned if it has ever generated any moral code.

Never heard off the ten commandments then?

Weren't they written in the Old Testament?

What else is in that book:

Genesis, the first book of the Bible, has Abraham preparing to sacrifice his son to God. "Take your son, your only son – yes, Isaac, whom you love so much – and go to the land of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will point out to you." (Genesis 22:1-18 ) Abraham takes his own son up on a mountain and builds an altar upon which to burn him. He even lies to his son and has him help build the altar. Then Abraham ties his son to the altar and puts a knife to his throat.

The first seven chapters of Leviticus have extensive rules regarding animal and food sacrifices. These offerings are supposed to be burnt so that God can smell them. If you read through these it seems clear to me that the priests were getting their followers to make a big feast for them every week. The priests were very particular about what kind of food to bring and how to prepare it.

In Leviticus 27:28-29, the Lord allows for no redemptions. "Note also that any one of his possessions which a man vows as doomed to the Lord, whether it is a human being or an animal, or a hereditary field, shall be neither sold nor ransomed; everything that is thus doomed becomes most sacred to the Lord. All human beings that are doomed lose the right to be redeemed; they must be put to death." I must admit that I am a bit confused by this contradiction, but it might only apply to slaves in your possession. Not that it makes any difference. A human sacrifice is a human sacrifice, and it is just sick.

With the atheist religion requiring extra thick sceptical gloves.

I think science has a better chance of explaining the universe, than the belief in a God. There's absolutely no empirical data proving God's existence, only a book written by man, with absolutely no proof contained within it's text.

You've gotta admire their ability to accept the futility of it all ;)

Yep - and you can keep on pretending to ignore me so that you can avoid answering my direct and simple questions.

Fool.

What a fookin complete idiot you are, I have answered your stupid question over and over and over, i.e. cancer is man made, don't blame God for it, its the fault of parents not the child, and not the God, so get that fookin in your thick head! silly plank!

Oh and if you do not have faith in God, then don't fookin expect him to help you cure cancers, and he can if you sincerely pray from your heart.

or I will start ignoring you again!
