Is Basic income a good idea.

so your post was pure fiction.

As I thought.

Well of course you like the idea because youre a communist. The trouble, however, is that the Labour party who are supposed to represent the 'oppressed' classes are full of career polticans who don't care about their electorate, the poor, or worse, are pushing some dangerous and extreme ideology like Marxism purely to fullfill some twisted lust for power. They don't care about the poor, they just hate the rich, as do you and ellal.

With no credible voice to support it the working and middle class continues to be squeezed and squeezed in this country, and very little will be changing soon. All Corbyn will do is increase the tax burden for working people, stealing from the poor and hard working to give to the poor hapless parasite, as what happened under Blair. High income earners will continue to escape scrutiny as they have always done, because they can afford tax planning.

More money to spend on Beer and crisps.

There are a lot of reasons for someone ending up that way, perhaps more money is the worst thing that could happen to them, think about drug addicts, alcoholics, gamblers, I can see a lot more money funneled back into the hands of these industries. Is that going to help society really ? Well it might make a drug addict die quicker because they will have an unlimited amount of money to get high on .. do we want a society like that though ?

And racist too

Its not racist, just a shortenened word.

Edit: apologies, I didnt know it is defined as a derogatory term. My apologies to all aborigines

poor old fellow is now having trouble grappling with words in the English language.

Has been tried, hasn't been tried....

Remember he started out by claiming that he knew what the cost was?

For something that he later said had never happened.

(as he didn't know about the Finnish experiment).

So thats the best argument you can come up with:

nothing.........

Once again:
its never been tried anywhere in the world, and its expensive.

Take your time

The Government could save money on other benefits like unemployment and sickness.

No they couldn't.

Until evidence comes to light that shows universal basic income to be a long term sustainable solution to wealth inequality I don't think it should happen here.

Well where it is used in relation to unemployment we already have JSA as well as other support systems based around part time work. Those who can work, should.

Pensions has the biggest void to fill.

Universal basic income is an entirely different animal to JSA. If you have statistics you can show please go ahead, but to date there is unlikely to be much otherwise johnd would have posted it by now.

That's the point. If you can work and there is work available why should the state pay you a basic income.

Granted in circumstances some may argue for income support but a a basic state offered income sounds like socialism to me.

Well I'm not arguing for income support and I'm not really a fan of it either. I'm for empowering the working classes to push back against oppression and the tyranny of the ruling class, but that involves pushing for better pay and working conditions, the power of unions and strong leadership, it doesnt, in my mind, mean getting paid to do fuk all, which is what New Labour introduced in the 90s - the benefits class.
