Israel under attack

Looking back in time is the problem. Things need to change substantially if things are to move forward. There is no other way.
Indeed...

The main problem is that in the here and now the state of Israel is going to seize all Palestinian land or bomb them out of existence...

And the west supports them without question, hence the raison d'etre of hamas however wrong they are!

Sue-Ellen is now saying that uttering the word 'jihad' should be a criminal offence...

Look it up and then explain why!

Netanyahu (sic?) and his cronies must surely realise that they'll never achieve that; they'll only strengthen the palestinian's resolve.

From what I can see, Hamas don't give much regard to the palestinians per se; the ideology and the land is their main raison d'.....

Like it or not, the word has a very loaded meaning in the UK.

Yes, I know the literal translation is "struggle".

And Hamas have vowed to destroy Israel. And they both have God on their side.

Stalemate.

That Bassam Youssef certainly has a dry sense of humour.

"Palestinians are very difficult to kill, I know this because I'm married to one. Every time I try to kill her she uses the kids as human shields".

Thought he was a stand up comedian, trained as a heart surgeon in Egypt and then went into satire later in life.

He raises some valid points such as West Bank still gets bombed despite no Hamas presence so removing Hamas isn't a guarantee to the end of hostilities, but like the rest of us, he doesn't have a solution.
No one in their right mind will say what Hamas did on that day can be justified or acceptable.
But let us not forget Israeli government has been leading oppression of Palestinians since 1948.

There were better periods before the extreme right wing Netanyahu and his party came to power. All they want is to cleanse the land of all Arabs/ Palestinian ppl.

This isn't and never was about Jews in general. Not all Jews are zionists. Zionism is not even that old- its a political ideology.

God bless the Jews and Muslims who want to live in peace- as they use to.

So would you ban the word 'jihad' in the UK based on what it is 'perceived' to mean by some in the UK?

1984 is supposed to be a warning, not a template!

Would you allow people to incite trouble in the UK, based on them knowing what some in the UK and perhaps they themselves perceive "jihad" to mean?

A Tube driver who appeared to lead passengers in a chant of "free, free Palestine" on a London Underground train has been suspended pending further investigation...

Linky Linky

Would 'Free Free Nelson Mandela' now be allowed given he was a leader of the ANC?

"The African National Congress formally apologized Monday for the killing of civilians by its guerrilla forces during the ANC's three-decade struggle against apartheid."

"We regret the deaths and injuries to civilians arising from armed actions. We apologize to the next-of-kin for the suffering and hurt," said a statement from the ANC to South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission, set up to investigate apartheid-era abuses and promote reconciliation among South Africans of all races."

"The ANC, which was voted into power after white-minority rule ended in 1994, admitted to a campaign of bombings and assassinations, including the deaths of seven anti-apartheid activists killed for betraying the cause"

Nelson Mandela - ANC member

You are now trying to swerve the argument with including Biko who was of a group with the same aims but with different means of achieving it...

Do try harder next time ;)
