So the protest was about 60 people being deported, not simply one convicted rapist?
Please get your facts right.

The fact that a convicted rapist was on board was coincidental.
In addition, he had been suffering mental health issues, and had responded well to treatment. If he had been deported he would not have had such treatment and would probably have gone on to rob and rape other victims, eventually probably being killed by stoning. As it was, he was kept in secure conditions and continued treatment.
Which do you think was the preferred outcome?

As I've mentioned in other topics, I suggested in another forum a few years back it would be sensible for women (and men) not to walk anywhere alone at night to enhance their security a bit.

I got banned for victim blaming ...

It's a sad state of affairs when one has to accept what goes on and take precautions...

I don't think that the 'risk' of crime was that much worse, but the violence is now worse...

For example if there happened to be a fight, in most cases if someone went down that was it.
Now it's 'kick 'em in the head' and stomp on them. And that seems to go for both males and females!

Society (such as it is) has become ever more unequal, and in addition there are are virtually no police patrols on the ground...

Instead all we get are an ever increasing amount of draconian laws which do nothing but stir up resentment!

I found it odd that thousands of pounds was spent on hundreds of bunches of flowers.

Surely it would be much more practical to make a donation to a charity helping victims of violence?

After all the only way to raise the profile of an issue is make 'headline news'...

Am I the only one who thinks it’s completely crazy to blame “men” as a collective for the murderous evil behaviour of a few? The reclaim these streets campaign and this morning the libdems leader seemed to think we need men to have their liberties curbed to protect women.

Im not sure what you're lol'ling at or you on the nitrous oxide again, and have you got any spare for me?

However you're right it seems we must be far more sensitive about those aforementioned groups, but men in general had it too easy too long and are fair game and should take it on the chin?
