Its just a book?

Of course he didn’t
I know
he very carefully presented it as part of a measure to stop Islamophobia.
and?
If you are going to argue for blasphemy laws you better present them in a way that sounds as reasonable as you can.
Lol, ok...
Making it an offence to disrespect or desecrate religious text is exactly a call for blasphemy laws.
No it isn't. The article above says the call is for blasphemy laws to be reinstated. Nonsense...

I think you have your head in the sand or maybe don’t want to explore the fact that the government has some MPs including the one in my post, who are indeed calling for laws to make “holy” texts (though I think he excluded a few) sacred in law.

There are no plans to introduce a law covering this, let alone "the reintroduction of blasphemy laws". Don't panic...

Biking from the boatyard needs reassurance that he can tear pages out of The Bible and upload a video of himself destroying the good book, whilst suffering zero repercussions.

He's not said why he wants to do that other than an indication he perhaps wants to make a satanic music video or show off his biceps...

Yes, an Islamist calling for a return to the religious morality of the Middle Ages is probably worth highlighting, wouldn't you agree?
I think there have been lots of questions asked by lots of MP's that have been worth highlighting, wouldn't you agree ?

So it's just the islam part that gets your attention?

Out of all the questions asked over the years, by all parties, and it's just this 1 that has your attention ?

99.9% of questions in Parliament are day to day running the country questions, the two occasions I've been in the HOC have been quite frankly, rather boring.
It's not everyday an Islamist MP stands up and suggests his religion should be singled out to have legal protections against criticism, but not other religions.
Yes, it piqued my curiosity.

He didn't say his religion only, or mention criticism at all, but yes, he didn't cover them all.
