I only said, Im not sure what to say as you seem to be getting more confused than ever
It appears to be you that is confused.
My statements have been consistent throughout:
A computer is basically a PCB (or several PCBs).
A PCB is not a computer (it may be, but more than likely is not).
All modern electronic controllers are basically a PCB. Some have processors, memory, input/output devices.
Computers are not basically pcbs.
The major component is just a PCB, onto which other components are connected, just like a washing machine controller. (just for mitch: you do not need a case!)
A printed circuit board is just a board. To be a computer it needs other components.
As does a washing machine controller, FFS!
Also a computer does not have to be made with a printed circuit board.
Neither does a washing machine controller! But they are because that is the easiest way to mass produce them and achieve consistency.
So were washing machines.
A washing machine controller may have an operating system, but that doesnt mean it can be instructed to carry out arbitary sequences.
Arbitrary = based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system
Of course it can! It would not be much good as a reliable washing machine, but neither would a computer be much good if it carried out arbitrary sequences, unless that is what is wanted, e.g. output a random number sequence.
However, if you were trying to write a letter, and the computer outputted an arbitrary sequence, your letter would be gibberish.
That explains your, and **** end's postings.
This may be how your brain works.
Therefore, to go back to judith's original dopey statement: "computer technology", that will be a PCB (or several), an operating system, a processor, memory, input/output devices!
