Hi All
I know part P means Im not doing this but my kitchen re arrange makes it a bit of a pain to wire for whoever I get.
is it within regs to some how use upstands to run kitchen electrical trunking?
does anyone know of a supplier of upstands that match counter tops and allow electrical trunking?
I've seen desk height trunking used in office, schools etc surely this would be a similar idea and neat solution, or am I just going insane? :)

What's an upstand?
its when the worksurface has a matching back part stuck to the wall instead of tiles.

it sounds like a big NO for these.
has anyone seen any counter top ducting suitable for kitchens?

No, but I don't think that countertop height is right anyway - to avoid bend radius problems, you'd want 80 - 100mm from the worktop to the bottom of the sockets. Or the sockets rotated through 45°.

What about mounting dado trunking hard up against the underside of the wall units? It will probably be out of sight when standing in the kitchen, and it makes all the sockets readily accessible.

Aren't splashbacks usually quite high?

Upstands are short, and usually the same thickness as the worktop
