L shaped worktop levelling

Why would he recommend silicon rather than glue in this situation? No Nails is an adaptable adhesive that could stick 'Solvite Man' to a board and fly him round the houses.

I may be miss-remembering. It might be the case he recommended silicone for the biscuits when I asked for advice about extending the width of a worktop when a customer built a side extension and wanted me to marry up the old and new iroko worktops where the old side window used to be.

So…..back to this.
I’m wondering if a 4mm x 20mm x 2000mm rolled steel routed into the underside of the worktop on its thin edge would stop the bowing? I’d be very surprised if it didn’t. Or even right-angled steel half sunk into the worktop. I tested square tubing and you can bend it when it’s over a metre long, but i couldn’t bend 4mm x 20mm along its thin edge.
What do you think?
