Cracking down on riots is not comparable to "the derisory sentence for the rape of an 8-yr old girl", or whatever false equivalence was drawn up earlier in the thread.

Without a basic framework of law and order, we'd all be living in The Purge, and terrible crimes (such as the rape example) would be a feg-sight more common than they currently - thank goodness - are.

Crack down hard on all crims (y)

Pick the bones out of that one, @ReganAndCarter (y)

He's a child of immigrants.
So are you.
Unless your family have been interbreeding since the first invasion by the Romans.
But as Bristol was a major trading port, and centre for piracy, it's very likely that many of your family, and you, are descendants of foreign seamen.

And you're evidently from a racist culture.
Many of us are, but some of us grow up, learn, and form our own opinions.
Others, like you, can't help themselves but regurgitate the hatred and bigotry they were taught from a young age.

Mine do too. All I was pointing out was that they were riots and handled the same way. Just as any future ones would be. Factions involved in the riots don't matter in this respect.
The Bristol riots were born out of decades of racism, inequality and social injustice:
Inequality, social injustice and prejudice all had a part to play in the build up to the uprising,

The recent right-wing riots were born out of disinformation on social media.

I'd thought I'd check our reganandcarter's claim about stabbings in Bristol in correlation with the ethnic breakdown of Bristol's population.
Unfortunately I couldn't find data specific to Bristol for knife crime, just national data (England and Wales)
Poptulation of Bristol:
According to the 2011 census, the racial and ethnic composition of Bristol was:

  • White: 84.0% (77.9% White British, 0.9% White Irish, 0.1% Gypsy or Irish Travellers, 5.1% other white)
  • Black: 6.0% (2.8% African, 1.6% Caribbean, 1.6% other black)
  • Asian: 5.5% (1.5% Indian, 1.6% Pakistani, 0.5% Bangladeshi, 0.9% Chinese, 1.0% other Asian)
  • Mixed race: 3.6% (1.7% White and Black Caribbean, 0.4% White and Black African, 0.8% White and Asian, 0.7% other mixed race)
  • Arab: 0.3%
  • Other: 0.6%

84% white.

Knife crime for England and Wales. (I couldn't find equivalent data for the Bristol area alone)

Table 32

There were 584 white suspects against a total of 686 white victims.
There were 102 non-white suspects of 686 white victims

That's a ratio of 14.5% non-white suspects and 85.5% of white suspects of white victims.
This compares to 16% non-white, and 84% white population of Bristol
It's pretty clear that more white people in Bristol are suspects of knife crime against white people than would be expected by the national average of the ethnic breakdown of the population.

Reganandcarter has clearly misunderstood the data. If he ever consulted it.
