I love those Carol Cadwalladr stories in the Guardian, almost as much as I enjoy the fact she will soon be losing her house to pay Aarons legal fees
That comment just shows how morally corrupt you are

But never Carol Cadwalladr is uncovering loads of brexit corruption, I shall enjoy posting the sh1t as you Brexit ship sinks. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Seems Le Penn has used a Trumpish adviser. Also one candidate has suggested their followers should vote for her. If the very right one I suspect that will get her in. Pity the French. Populists are good at getting votes and crap on ideas that will achieve anything with any certainty at all.

:rolleyes:All mention the cost of living crisis. Some mention people below the poverty line. Immigration figures where you would expect.

Macron needed to push a levelling up campaign. I do wonder how much of that will be a fresh coat of paint job. A term I came up with for my own use. LOL It goes back to the NHS years ago. Some spare money so lots of repainting done and an enormous crystal chandelier installed in head office in London. In a 60's style stairwell. It looked stupid. People working there thought they were going to be sold.

Oh - mention that the biggest investors in the UK are Russians. No idea if that is true or not. :) Anyway the Chinese have not been mentioned - much. The buy a passport facility is popular.

French, Chinese and Americans I would have thought. Russians might buy houses and the odd football team but we don't hear of them investing big rubles in Infrastructure.

Not sure about Le Penn. Macron was tasked with modernising which means reducing pensions and increasing the pension age, not really a vote catcher. We've seen more dissent in France in the last 4 years than I can ever remember, they must be almost neck and neck at the moment so interesting. Not much of a choice for the French really, maybe better the devil they know.

Well what ever happens in this French election caper one thing is for certain

the French will vote in. a scoundrel as the president :):)

Wonder if Macron has got his state of the art document shredder warmed up / ready ??

He may have to start shredding his personal finacial documents :ROFLMAO:

he is probably bricking it ??

Pass but some feel wall st is awash with Russian money. Hedge funds and etc. The City? All people with loads and loads seem to get involved in tax havens. Once there I doubt if there is any simple way of telling where it actually comes from. Shell companies often figure in ownership.

Confiscate things - houses and yachts. They still need to be maintained apparently and that has run into £m's in the past.Sell them ? Who's got the money to buy them?

The far right that wants to ban none French names has a fair sized following. He's been fined for inciting hate several times. If his followers and other odd balls say vote for Penn she probably will win. If it's their mess up the EU lot I don't think there are many of them. Their far left is 3rd in their polls.

Fact is many countries have the same problem and it's tricky to do anything about it. Ukraine makes some of the factors worse and if some pundits are correct they will get worse as Russian supplies drop off. Replacements need to be found and shortages always push up prices.

Truth is most would benefit from true social democrats - lefty or righty ideas that suite rather than all of one or the other. Find it and I don't think it can last.

That Le Penn has stated ( not recently)

that france is closer to Russia than the EU o_O

blimey this fruit cake could end up as president of a country 25 miles away

France might be best advised to stick with the scoundrel they know

Macron got 27.6% of the vote, Le Penn 23.4% and Melenchon 22% who is a leftist. Macron is a centralist so all of the left may go to Macron. Turnout was low.

Is that what the 'experts' are saying? I seem to remember a few on here saying that all the under 18's that were ineligible to vote on Brexit and were bitter at the result as it would affect their futures would be voting in vast numbers to oust the Tories in the upcoming GE as they were now of an age to vote. Result: one of the biggest landslide victories for the Tories! I T hink it was just wishful thinking on their behalf.
