LED Bathroom Ceiling light

I get you point about heat,, but I have worked in numerous properties where that have failed after about 6 weeks. Someone
, somewhere is not being honest about their longevity.

I agree and that’s why sealed units are best avoided

Most light fittings were originally designed for tungsten lamps, where heat was not an issue for the lamp bulb itself. Along comes the LED, where good ventilation and extremely cool running is essential, yet we put them in the very same lighting fittings, and expect to get the design life out of them. It just will not happen....

They last longest, with the electronics in the base, lowest, and with a cooling flow of air, from below, plus an exit for the warm air above.

I've just had a couple of one-year old's fail, in three wall-light. They were base up, in an enclosed glass shade. Rather than risk, a new set, I simply inverted the fittings, so they are open top/base down. Heat is able to rise, they run much cooler.
