Linear manifold 22mm x 2- 15mm

@The Real Pin 5 Dan I worked on a system once and the Gas supply was 54mm in what looked like Aluminium or stainless and was pressfit, you could rotate the fittings when pressed and wouldn't leak, any Idea what that system is called ?

Guess you saw my post before I realised it was the open forum..

Normal press can move quite a bit. Especially at that size. It's not supposed to though. I was bloody grateful that lot didn't leak because getting the press gun up there and on the fittings with the 42mm and 54mm slings was bloody painful and awkward

54mm tee reducing to 42mm and 35mm. 7 bar boosted water supply.

Dan this was a sliver colored pipe , looked like Aluminium or stainless, and was press fit, installer said it was really expensive and was for gas , guess it could be used for water to but dont really know, have only seen it that once

I love this bit of information

  • Pressing indicator
  • Leaky if unpressed
  • Marked in yellow
  • Seal ring made of HNBR, yellow
  • Pressing socket with yellow protection plug

"" Leaky if unpressed ""

A bit like saying " Leaky if not soldered " or "Leaky if nuts not tightened "

Something that is so obvious.... does it need to be included in the product information ?

Only to an amateur.

Unsoldered fittings can hold water and gas under pressure.

Press fit fittings such as Peglar and geberit are designed to leak in a very obvious way.
Cheers Dan was asking as a mate is going off shore to fit out an industrial kitchen, and as it is in the accommodation block, no hot works allowed and the company has supplied the gear , I was telling him about this stuff so now he can look it up , I think that is what is specified, very impressive stuff and worth the expense in my opinion

Its for ponces who cant solder. ;) And dont have to cheat by using thing wire solder not meant for pipework. ;)

I can solder plenty good enough.

How altogether you be repairing that pipe work? Rigid tube in 3 directions, joists either side, 4 stories of equally large pipes above you. Bundles and bundles of live electrics and security cables less than 2" from the pipes.

Expensive as fook wood panelling on the floor, ceiling and walls.

Braize? :p

Now come on, fess up..... What are your other usernames /identities?
