Hadn't thought of that, I could fit isolation valves at the ends of the stubs to allow the debris to be removed. Would these stubs be as efficient at collecting debris as a magnetic filter in the return to the boiler wpuld be.

Trained chimps ( like many trained people ) do not think and do what they have been trained to do on the way they were trained to do it. Thinking about doing thing differently is discouraged if not banned outright.

Space constraints given that fitted furniture is going there. When the system was first installed there were tees.
