So the thread might as well be locked then crockett.when it seems the majority are in agreement, some won't be swayed, and resort to slightly personal insults to get their point across. While I'm all for subjectivity, when someone disagrees I just think it should be left at that, not to keep on and on until you are browbeaten.

Majority, by definition, and in this context, is the number of locked threads that you've been involved in exceeding those you haven't been involved in. I thought you were quite thorough in your researching of things. Evidently not.

I disagree with your working. For one thing, you haven't stated the period of time over which you took your sample of topics.
I don't know why you thought that, but it's your prerogative.

Let's pretend that I'm actually motivated to answer your question, which of course I'm not.
Let's also pretend that your calculation was correct, which of course it wasn't.
I believe that your underlying question is:- Why does it appear that I'm involved in more locked topics that I'm not involved in?
The answer is:- I don't know. It doesn't appear that way to me.
Perhaps you just happen to read the same topics as me, such that you notice some locked ones and not others.
Another possibility is that I'm a moderator and I like locking topics.
Some people want to believe that, but it isn't the truth.
Another possible answer is that I'm not a moderator and I'm a popular target for the kind of people who are abusive and whose posts thereby increase the likelihood of locking.
I don't see any breach of the rules on this topic, so the risk of locking would seem to be low.And then the thread will get locked before you can answer properly. Damn it !!!
On further reading of the locked posts, I would disagree. I would say that, although it's apparent that you are an eloquent and erudite member of this site, it's rather that the threads you are involved in tend to go off on a massive tangent, probably through no fault of your own, but, as is the case with most 'net forums, the latitude allowed to reply, from your point of view, must bore thr Mods. I would hasten to add that, although you do frustrate me, I do find your replies somewhat entertaining, in a want-to get-hold-of-you-and-wring-your-neck sort of way!!
Sorry Softus but I must agree with Crockett on this one, for whatever reason over the past few weeks you have had more posts locked on a topic where you had been the last one to post.

Sorry to interrupt you guys but my son has just told me that he has gone back over the last ten locked threads, (ie back to September), and that Softus is involved, my son claims, in nine of them.
There's no disingenuous fool like an old disingenuous fool.
Every topic that I cared to look at that was locked, not having time to go back over the 1000 or so pages, of which I have no interest, only in the ones that were locked, that I looked at, and not all. But I will, then I can make an informed judgement, which you will still not give a straight answer to.
