Locking the Truth

...But I will, then I can make an informed judgement, which you will still not give a straight answer to.
Have you considered the fact that I'm under no obligation to provide any answer, and have never undertaken to provide one?

You created this topic with a clandestine hint about who you were referring to, and with no attempt to ask me anything. It was only after I felt like posting that you seem to have seized what you see as an opportunity to put me in the dock.

Well I'm actually just standing in the public gallery, watching what's happening, and applauding or heckling as the mood takes me. That you think I have any duty to do anything else, let alone "give an answer", is quite bizarre. I offered the truth back on page 2, but nobody was really interested in it. Therefore, I'm content to sit back and enjoy the performance.

Pray continue.

And that, in a twisted sort of way, is what I like about you.
By the way, I have only asked the question, not put you in the dock, as you say. If you aren't prepared to answer, or have no idea, thats fine. I'm not one for talking in riddles or code, I just like, as you probably do, to converse and glean information. My original question was aimed at getting you to speak, as I can't PM you as I am blocked from your profile page. So, alas, I had to ask in a more public place.

I shall ask no more, as I'm not too keen on chasing my tail for too long

There's no disingenuous fool like an old disingenuous fool.

I am old and I may or may not be a bit of a fool, but disingenuous I am not. I didn't even know about this post until I clicked on my own posts. The reply was posted by my son and although he asked my permission to 'reply to a post', I had honestly no idea what the thread was, nor who was involved. Having said that, I dont think that he meant any harm and you have my sincere apologies if the post upset you.

Humbly accepted, but I wasn't in the upset.

In turn, my apologies for being crusty, but also to explain: I just can't help myself when people start a sentence with "Sorry to interrupt...", without appearing to be sorry, and then continue to interrupt anyway.

Sorry to interupt... :D Sorry I couldn't help myself! :D but isn't it time you locked this thread Softus? :D ...Sorry! I'm only joking!

EDIT: Well said Softus. I sincerely admire that attitude in anyone.

You would have been if you had been on the receiving end of a reply he intended to submit tonight! My son always writes down what he intends to post before he actually does it. Consequently, when I took him to task for the reply he made to this thread last night, he let me read a draft of a post that he he intended to submit tonight. It is so insensitive and hurtful that I have made the decision to read all of his posts before submission. It might be of interest for you to know that the subject of the intended post was someone other than yourself.

I still wouldn't have been upset, but the possibility that I might be a bad example to him is cause for concern.

"Sorry to interrupt...", without appearing to be sorry, and then continue to interrupt anyway.

Have just had a chat with the 'offender' and he maintains that he was trying to break a deadlock between yourself and Crockett by highlighting the actual figures as he saw them. Knowing that he can exaggerate more than a little, you can take his observations with a pinch of salt.

Hm. Luckily for the Guardian it publishes some interesting stuff as well as that meaningless pile of nonsense.
