US markets seem to have received the news well. All the Trump favoured stocks that I hold have jumped.

don't recall the FTSE reacting to Labour in the same way.

It was down 0.5% the day after the general election. A damning indictment of the Labour win.

Although anyone with more than a few brain cells knows much of what Trump says is bluster, one thing is undoubtedly true. As is always the case post result, voters (and non voters alike) will now expect him and his party to deliver.

As an example, a bit like us with our small boat problem, it'll be interesting to see to what extent the USAs border issue is resolved over the coming years. And if Trump / Republican Party don't make decent inroads on things like cost of living and the economy, as we know voters can be very fickle.
