Low load, on a high amp circuit (Ed.)

i plan to run this with about a 4amp load would this be fine on a 16amp commando if im only drawing around 4 amps from the ups eaton say a 32 amp recommended but itll never see more than a 4amp load so would it be fine on a 16amp commando?

You seem to be confusing various numbers.

Why do you want to use a commando and not a normal 13A socket with a fuse in the plug?

the commando is already where i’d like said ups to be as for the numbers it’s more it can draw 24 amps IF i pull 24 amps from said ups so if i use the commando at 16 amps and pull no more than a few amps from the ups itself it should be fine no?
 
You can use a 16A plug/socket/cable provided the output is fused/protected at 16A or less, AND the input to the UPS is also protected at 16A or less.

Well im not trying to draw 24 amps im not trying to draw more than 6 or 7 amps its for a small network switch and a router maybe a small pc on the side but i just dont want to swap the commando out for a bigger one unless necessary thats why im trying to get away with it like aslong as both sides are fused at 16 amps theoretically i dont see a problem to my knowledge?

its on a 20A circuit but i will never be pulling more than 7 amps so i was hoping to get away with the 16amp commando so i wouldnt have to run 6.5m to here as thatd be the case

You may not be running more than 7 Amps, but after a power cut and significant battery drain, how much current will the UPS draw to recharge the batteries, whilst maintaining that 7 Amps to your equipment?

the charging current is around an amp 1.5 amps at best so i really do not see a problem
 
What was the state of charge on the batteries when that was measured? Battery charging slows substantially when batteries are nearly full.

I took a look at the manual, but I can't find any options to limit input current.

Half discharge the battery, apply your 4amp load, and measure the input current on startup.

from what i can tell it’s a slow charge so i really doubt it’s going to be alot manual says an amp so
