In my district, and almost certainly in yours, meals or food packages are being made availably by volunteers and cafes/restaurants/fish and chip shops etc, mostly for collection, but in somes cases served in community centres or even in schools. In some cases local councils are picking up the tab, in others it is the business or local community.
I don't know why you pretend to find this difficult to grasp.

I can back you up there... I've worked council contracts there have been those who think a nice car outside is more important than having a nice home. On the other hand there are those parents who have not a pot to **** in that don't have the energy or the intelligence to turn their life round.

Why do you suggest "A booking at a restaurant, with the tab picked up by taxpayer / council / charity / A.N. Other" when there are many other schemes already in operation near you?
