Mental health

Bodd

We had a big discussion on the CC about MH.
I'm not sure we could have a Frank conversation on GD.

I start this as my mate poped round this morning. He's suffering.. He lost his wife a few months back.
He come in the garden. I was treating him like a lepper, watching what he touched and just wanting to get rid of him. I felt awful but he cares more about his MH and loneliness and not giving much of a sh¡t about the virus.

For this reason I will break the rules so I can spend time with him walking or bike riding.

Make sure you observe social distancing - don’t forget, you have others to think about who should be more important to you than a mate.

I know. The last walk he was"fnck the virus"
But we still kept our distance, more down to me than him.

How old is he Bodd

I have 2 close friends who lost there wives but at a much earlier age one was 34

And the other 41

Both entered a very dark world of depression

Mate so sorry. The only thing worse is to loose a child.

My mate I think has always had mental health problems but this lady he met made him happy. He then looses her

Many years ago my old Headmaster walked into the river and drowned after his wife died.At the time I remember thinking it a bit odd..30 years on...I think I would do similar...I do not think I could recover from the depression, loss, hopelessness, pain and sense of futility

Both of em. Came through it there was light at th e end of the tunnel eventually

Both are in new relationships and have been for years

Imo the older u are the harder it is?

I. Have mentioned this in the CC in the past

We worked at a prop were the fella living there had a massive family trauma

It was so bad that he was renting the prop as he could no longer live in the family home

He worked for an oil company abroad and got a call to go home

His wife 6 year old son and 9 year old daughter wer in a car that got hit by a lorry

All died

I found out when he mentioned some thing in conversation with me and I sort of latched onto the remark

Wish I had not tbh

What can u say to the fella????

Your full of great stories, you are.

I feel a tear coming....

I've text him and said let's meet for a beer down the town park. We will look like a couple of Poles but hey HO. Why not.

Err, cos it’s against the instructions maybe?

Mott. Its not my normal thing I do. But if we sit in what is effectively a field with a couple of beers, what's the harm. He needs some company, just someone to talk to. There will be no contact (unless we get into a fight)
