We make them do it. If they want to come here it is the only way for some. But it ain't what we have.

Of course it is, most of the anti asylum trope is wrong, but it doesn't deter them from saying it, repeatedly. No, that's wrong.
What makes them genuine and bona fide?As I've said before, genuine, bona fide refugees include men, women, children, elderly - even cats and dogs
Of course we don’t.We make them do it. If they want to come here it is the only way for some.
You've succumbed to the right wing media, or you're short on logic.
If an asylum seeker does not give a name or country of origin, how can they possibly claim asylum.
Border Guard: "You're under arrest."
Asylum Seeker: "I want to claim asylum."
Guard: "OK What is your name?"
Asylum seeker: No comment."
Guard: "Where are you from?"
Asylum Seeker: "No comment."
Guard: If you don't tell us your name, or where you're from, how can you expect us to check your reason for claiming asylum, Sigh"
You clearly haven't thought this through.
No idea, I guess you'd need to be pretty desperate to try it in the first place. If was 30 miles away how on earth would I do it?
What are the options for those who wish to come here and don't have any safe routes?Of course we don’t.
Or desperate.Or stupid. Or both.
Nonsense. Look up eligibility for a Visa for one.Claim elsewhere. Then apply for a visa
Yea, let everyone else do it. Nothing to do with us guv...They are in a country that can give them all the help they could need or want.
Yes, desperate.They’d rather risk death.
Desparate for asylum. If they claim asylum in a country other than UK, but they speak English, or have familly and friends in UK, they've reduced their chances of making a sucessful go at rebuilding their lives.Desperate for what?

Most asylum seekers do not choose UK as a destination.
The few that do choose UK to claim asylum for several potential reasons:
They speak English, they don't speak any other European language,
They have family or friends here already,
Those two things above all other issues make rebuilding a life so much easier.
