More deaths in the channel.

It’s a historic fact that titanic was declared seaworthy after completing sea trials in April 1912.
The Titanic was considered seaworthy according to the standards of the time and was certified by the British Board of Trade. However, it tragically sank on its maiden voyage in 1912 after hitting an iceberg. The disaster led to significant changes in maritime safety regulations and practices
On returning to Belfast at about 7 pm, the surveyor signed an "Agreement and Account of Voyages and Crew", valid for 12 months, which declared the ship seaworthy.
After 12 hours of sea trials.

More swerving. Again, why should I be compelled by you to support them when you clearly don't, who the **** do you think you are to demand that of me?
Charity donations are entirely voluntary.

IDGAS whether you support them or not.

However, stopping your support of the RNLI because you don't agree with people of a certain nationality being rescued by them is questionable at the very least.

Again, if someone was drowning, and you were able to save them, are you saying you would not help them if they were of a certain nationality?

Again, what if your withdrawal of funds led to the RNLI not being able to rescue someone you agree should be saved?
Sillyboy doesn't have the capacity to think that far ahead.

It's international agreements that are at fault.
Which ones?

We chose to go it alone and now expect others to take boat people, we accept none. That is hardly a basis for working with others.

What does WOKE mean, to YOU?
It’s a right wing culture war, it doesn’t mean anything.

the Conservative Party have failed on the economy and NHS so they are just left with hating foreigners and anybody they can label as woke….oh and “the establishment” whatever tf that is.

It was of course seaworthy. Any seaworthy vessel will probably sink if you make a large hole in it allowing everything that is meant to be on the outside to be on the inside.
There wasn't a large hole in it.
The hull was not punctured, but rather dented such that the steel plates of the hull buckled and separated, allowing water to rush in.

Now if you feel strongly about it, make the shortfall up yourself, you help fund them. If you don't. then your a ******* hypocrite
The usual childish nonsense from the right

National and international problems are not the responsibility of individuals…..so your argument is a pointless.

Nor the responsibility of national charities set up to save lives in the inland and coastal waters of the U.K.

They are of course free to change their stated aim (as they did) but they risk losing the support of those who have funded them (as evidenced).

said on here I was cancelling my direct debit because I wasn't prepared to contribute toward a taxi service for illegal immigrants and having done so posted a copy of the reply from the RNLI.
Luckily not all RNLI supporters are nasty r/w c****s

Since people like have made an issue of it, RNLI donations have gone up…..luckily there are decent people around

That’s not the objection. The objection is they are a national charity deviating from their stated aims and contributing to encouraging people to cross illegally.
Their stated aims arre to rescue people in distress at sea.
It's opnly your interpre4attion that thinks it's anything else.
The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. We provide, on call, a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service and a seasonal lifeguard service.

I must have missed the bit about them having an ethnicity qualification before rescuing someone.

Of course they don’t. But the north coast of france is not the coastal waters of the U.K. it’s costing them a lot of money and its money they no longer can rely on having.

They are making cut backs due to lack of funding and overstretched resources.

Pretty much the definition of the channel.

Mostly sailors that need, or want the RNLI, some only support them whilst actively a sailor. A perfectly acceptable situation. As evidenced by sillyboy

None of this affects its sea performance and ability to cope with the conditions it’s designed for
The sea worthiness of the Titanic was based on exactly that, its performnace, speed and a 'crash stop'.
The sea trials consisted of a number of tests of her handling characteristics, carried out first in Belfast Lough and then in the open waters of the Irish Sea. Over the course of about 12 hours, Titanic was driven at different speeds, her turning ability was tested and a "crash stop" was performed in which the engines were reversed full ahead to full astern, bringing her to a stop in 850 yd (777 m) or 3 minutes and 15 seconds.[98] The ship covered a distance of about 80 nautical miles (92 mi; 150 km), averaging 18 knots (21 mph; 33 km/h) and reaching a maximum speed of just under 21 knots (24 mph; 39 km/h).
