Set sail from France

Happened in French waters just off the coast

French are responsible

Simples
Do you think the French should build a wall around France?
Maybe they should make UK pay for it.

As long as it’s waterproof and we can fill it up after it’s built.

Perhaps the French should have a purge on all those they find hanging around the likely departure points on the French coast. Ask them what they are doing there and if they have no French immigration status, either put them in a holding centre and make claim asylum in France or fùck off back to where they came from. Anyone from outside the EU with checkable identities and a passport can’t stay in France for more than 90 days so why should some illegal immigrant be allowed to stay there while they get the money together to pay to a criminal gang so that they can occupy the resources of the lifeboat services from France and the U.K. and risk their life crossing the channel in a rubber boat?
Perhaps UK should offer to pay for this?

It's content to pay Rwanda for less.

It doesn’t matter. Many donors are unhappy with their focus on illegal immigrants and the significant impact on their resources and no longer want to fund them. There are also allegations from the inside that they have become WOKE and some volunteers have left for that reason. That is their choice.
What does WOKE mean, to YOU?

If France resists the emigrations, they get lumbered with them all, so how keen are they?

The system's all wrong. If someone flees as a refugee, they should register in the first country, then there should be a system to share the load.
There is such a system already, they're called refugee camps. But the participating countries don't take any refugees.

Financing the world’s refugee camps

Refugee camps have to be constructed quickly when a humanitarian crisis hits. Nevertheless, they sometimes last for decades, evolving from makeshift shantytowns into full-scale urban developments

It’s been discussed before.
Do you think it would have sunk had it not hit an iceberg?
People might have lived if their had been sufficient safety provision. You know, seaworthy requirements.

They were recognised at the time as being insufficient, in fact the shipping line wanted less lifeboats than it was forced to have. Rules were changed very soon after, so lets not pretend it has nothing to do with seaworthiness.

Any boat can sink, for a number of reasons, hence the need for safety requirements, in the case of emergency.

Think there's been some technical advancement been made in ship building since Titanic was first launched.

Boats that are unseaworthy will mostly sink by themselves, because they cannot cope with the conditions they face at sea.

Seaworthy boats sink due to human error.

So they don't need lifeboats unless they have humans in control of them ?

You really are twisting and turning trying to avoid admitting safety in an emergency is part of seaworthiness
