More EU workers needed...

Couldn't knock the skin off a rice pudding, boyo.
The EU is now raiding their 'peace fund' to supply artillery shells to Ukraine.
EU has some good points but their desire to expand into regions where they are not welcome is a recipe for disaster.

So, are you saying that the weapons used by the Ukranian army have not been supplied by countries that are members of NATO.
Ukraine is a classic case of a proxy war.
I'm saying they have been supplied to defend, not attack.

Russia attacked Ukraine, not the other way around. Nato (and others around the world) are helping against the Russian aggression.

They only expand into areas that want them.

Not like Russia who are trying to expand into another sovereign country, that doesn't want them there. See the difference?

Was the EU wanted in Eastern Ukraine.
The Ukraine war started in 2014.
Because Ukraine refused to sign an association agreement with the EU,
The democratically elected government was overthrown.
The rest is history.

You are confusing EU and NATO again.

The EU will live long in peace, boyo. Russia is no serious threat.

Ever been on benefits? Maybe 6 months on that, living insocial housing, might temper your attitude somewhat
Ever lived in a remote Lithuanian village in a slum hut with no hope of a job? U.K. on minimum wage or less while hot bedding in a one bed flat with six others will seem like a mighty big leap in your standard of living after that.

Eastern Ukraine is still part of Ukraine, a Sovereign state. The country as a whole chooses its path. None of it should be invaded by an aggressive other country

Is that a good reason for poor wages in UK ? Or irrelevant

According to a leading brexiteer!

Linky Linky

"A leading Tory Brexiter on Sunday calls on ministers to reopen the UK’s borders to tens of thousands of young workers from EU nations in order to tackle acute post-Brexit labour shortages that he says are driving up inflation.

In an extraordinary admission of the failures of immigration policy since the UK left the EU, former Tory environment secretary George Eustice said Rishi Sunak’s government should begin bilateral negotiations with EU nations immediately, with a view to offering young Europeans under 35 the right to two- year visas to work in this country"

So what happened to all those brexiteers taking up the jobs that were apparently being stolen from them?

Of course the sensible thing would be to rejoin the EU...

And voter renewal will enable that ! (y)

Smells of a country booming . Why else would we need so much labour.

Talk about a twisted view of the world! Is this how comrade Putin puts the story? OK, so let's just out with the truth, not that an apparatchik like you will accept the truth -

Ukrainian president at the time Viktor Yanukovych made the decision, in defiance of the elected Ukrainian parliament's accord (actually overwhelming approval), not to sign the European Union–Ukraine Association Agreement but instead choosing closer ties to Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union. That kicked off the Euoromaidan protests and in due course the illegal invasion and occupation of part of Ukraine. Clearly an illegal occupation and act of war against Ukraine by Russia wouldn't you say?

Yanukovych, a corrupt Kremlin toady, subsequently ran away to Russia, only to pop up again in the last year when Ukraine captured him. Which begs the question of just why a former Ukrainian president, who had been stripped of his citizenship, and furthermore was facing treason charges, wouldbe with Russian forces? Unless, of course, he was Putin's intended puppet dictator.

I have to say that your knowledge of Ukraine is a bit warped

He obviously doesn't know that something like 40% of all working-age benefit claimants are ready in work and are in receipt if tax credits. That's because mongst other things employers don't pay a living wage and because housing in the UK is ridiculouly expensive (because this country simply doesn't build enough social and affordable housing).

All this in supposedly the 7th richest country on earth - pity that the diffetential between rich and poor in the UK is also one of the higher ones in the world. I k ow the solution - Tax the Rich!
