Mushroom foraging.

Well, I went for it today. Parasol mushrooms. A fair size although they do grow bigger. Picked one, took it home, checked, checked and checked again, fried it up and had it on toast for my elevensies. Bloody 'andsome! Mrs Mottie wanted no part in it, thought I was being stupid and the way she went on, you'd think I was eating a raw puffer fish!

If you carry on like this, "Life's too short!" might be more apt than you think :ROFLMAO:

Everyone should do it. Totally natural food and I can at least identify two safe types of mushroom. Can't wait until I find my next specimen.

I love mushrooms, but I would not trust my judgement to identify edibles.

Separates the men from the boys! I’m up there with Bear Grylls and Ray Mears. :ROFLMAO: Nobody else fancy having a go?

Saw a couple of possibles this morning. Going to have to check them out in case they are liable to give me organ failure….

I thought this would be right up your street Nosey, you’re a bit of a foodie, aren’t you?,
A wee bit yes. San Sebastian was a dream. I don't mind going out of my way to eat good food.

You might want to be careful there though Mottie. I'm sure it's anything brightly coloured that will make you ill.....

My dad knew mushrooms and was collecting them all the time.
We had unlimited supply of mushrooms in olive oil, to the point that we were giving them away.
However, one of his friends in the US died of mushrooms poisoning and I never trusted myself to identify edible mushrooms.
He was very experienced, but one mistake and he was gone.
I see these in my woods and they look like some that my dad used to pick...
