Looking good Mottie, nice clean working space too (y)

Have you thought about replacing that window with one that has full length top hung openers? Just thinking that having the handle at the bottom makes them easier to open when reaching over the worktop.

Clean working space for the first time since I started it! I even put some fresh floor protector down after last nights tidy-up - the old stuff had disintegrated.

LoL. That window was fitted only yesterday and replaced the one that was there, like for like. The old one had a couple of blown units and had never been opened in 25 years! We replaced it as it was a different style from the rest of the house. We were even contemplating just having a single fixed pane but thought it might look odd.

good result , i dont suppose its now £90 price difference ?
No change in price with the one I saw but someone else has them on sale at £100 cheaper than AO but I think for a tenner, I won’t push my luck. With most retailers not having them in stock, I’m just glad to have one.

stock and parts seems to be the new thing , last year i waited 6mths for a stihl trimmer , now its car parts i need , i started a rant - but stopped

Just had a little piddle about today. Mock fitted a couple of cabinets and cut out a hole in a piece of ply for the sink. I need to fit the under mounted sink and taps etc, then fit the taps, waste and washing machine electric point and pipes. When that is all done, I’ve got to take some measurements then take the lot out again, fit the cabinet back board, drill the holes and carefully slide the carcass back into place with just the pipes coming through. Not going to do that today, I’ll take my time and do that tomorrow while I’m waiting for the hob to be delivered. Right, another tidy up and call it a day.

Did a bit of butchering to my sink base unit today to fit the sink in. Practically nothing left of it now. Repiped it and wasn’t too far out with making holes in it for the hot & cold pipes, washing machine pipe, washing machine socket and waste pipe. Mrs Mottie is overjoyed at having a sink base unit with a back on it which means she won’t have to fish about down the back of it to retrieve her cleaning products. Working out the waste was a bit of a headache - I kept the old waste setup from the old sink and bought a 2.5/2 bowl kit from B&Q. Neither would fit on their own but I cobbled something using bits from both. Mrs Mottie says it reminds her of a water flume ride at Center Parcs!

Only aggro I had was that the hot water wouldn’t come out of the new tap. Turned out I’d fitted one of the isolating valves the wrong way round! I didn’t know they were one-way. Another late finish - 10.25 tonight before I could turn the water back on.

You did seal the exposed edges before fitting the sink, didn't you?

Just seen that it's temporary.
Seal the edges and when you finish everything, run a bead of silicone along the sink cabinet joints.
You never know with that waste...
