Was it smashed avocado on toast?

Panic over! I thought the top right chick had died as I hadn’t seen it move for ages. Then, all of a sudden……

Five. I’m wondering what they do with the broken shells. I haven’t caught them fly tipping yet!

Apparently the adults sometimes eat them to get the calcium or they are disposed of away from the nest to discourage predators.

Mum & dad will keep that nest as clean as they need it to be for the greater good of the nest.

Wait till you discover the joy of the poo sack . . . . The runt is often sacrificed for the greater good, & I often wish that was extended into Homo Sapien culture.

They have extremely small brains & most of the folk who self elected themselves to define our natural world have it horribly wrong.

Because you only have to sit transfixed in front of your very own 'nest cam' to discover that we donate £millions to folk who really don't have a clue.

I can only see one egg left this morning so I think we are up to seven hatchlings.

Still one egg unhatched. I would imagine it’s not going to if it’s not hatched by now. The others are all doing well though. So far!
