Been sacked, for not resigning? Seems odd that due process was set up in the form of an investigation, and then he goes without being able to defend or justify himself. The government has in the recent past ignored the results of due process, now it doesn't bother waiting for the outcome. Seems careless to me. What is the penalty for a government being careless? Wipeout at the next GE on a greater scale than 1997? Maybe Yooguv will run a poll.

Apologist mottie disagrees with you.

You even disagree with yourself.

Both of you feel the need to make up fantasies to construct your ad-hominem attacks.

Do you claim the tax laws are fair?
You're drivelling down your chin again.

The law is a set of rules.
One question is whether you approve of them or not.
Another question is whether you break them or not.
Even a drivelling old simpleton can see those are different, but some on here deny it?

The tax laws are the same for everyone.
The taxes which apply depend on the situation you've got yourself in.
Taxes differ depending on what you're doing with money, for a multitude of reasons.
Unless you're given a load of it, how much of the stuff you have depends what you do in your life, with some luck thrown in.
Tax laws don't discriminate between individuals because of who you are, only because of what you've done.

People vary in their motivation and ability.
A simpleton would say that's unfair and everyone should be given the same money, but the mantra gets boring pretty quick.

Yes, if you aren't a simpleton but you want to drivel anyway, you're not worth hearing. Sort yourself out.

My mistake, the investigation was completed in record time. But the technical detail of hmrc investigation was outside the scope of the inquiry.

Blup

There should be a full review of of hmrc's handling, select committees are good for that sort of thing. Including a comparison of the tax efficiency of isa's versus offshore trusts.

He's gone and good riddants. Now lets get the rest of the unelected dross out.

If I was that rich, I’d not be moaning about them and neither would you! You take full advantage of tax avoidance at your level of wealth so why moan at others who are fortunate enough to be wealthier?

If you feel that strongly about it, don’t invest in any tax avoiding schemes such as ISA's, don’t take advantage of the dividend tax allowance and tax rate, don't take advantage of pension tax relief, don't take advantage of the inheritance tax allowance, don’t take advantage of the savings interest allowance, don’t take advantage of your personal tax allowance, don't take advantage of tax drawdown allowance on your pension, don't take advantage of your capital gains allowance don’t take advantage of any tax avoiding schemes at all and just pay tax at the higher rate of everything you earn.

Is that what you want, comrade?
So, no reply to that either from @JohnD. His avoidance of answering questions speaks volumes and no doubt is fully in line with his view of the avoidance of paying taxes or 'tax dodging' as he calls it. Okay for him but not others that are richer than him. That’s jealousy for you, pure and simple.

What will be the next Tory Sleaze scandal?

Andrew Briggen has said he will not sue Matt Handcok for libel if he apologises.

More ad-hominem delirium from apologist jutsin.
"ad-hominem" is that you himmi? Spelling a name wrong thinking you've upset someone when they're probably just laughing at you. All that driving from London to Scotland has twisted your melon mate.

These sarky bitches can sure give out, pretty s*it when they're on the receiving end though.

The short version: “I’m sacking you because you are harming my poll ratings, which are already cr@p”

I think you will find that rishi says he broke the ministerial code of conduct over his tax affairs

are you still defending his tax affairs ?

the bloke has been sacked, shame he hasn't got the ethics to behave better, or even to resign.

it's not sarcasm, it's demanding standards of our politicians
