As always, there is more to this than meets the eye told you so.

I cannot understand why the private garden vid was taken to court, as opposed to the alleged shared driveway meanderings and/or the visiting electrician and his dash for safety episode !

My understanding of the law is that to be charged with indecent exposure then you must have a victim. A man with a mack will expose himself to shock a victim. This is indecent exposure.

To wear nothing and to be chanced upon by serendipity by another is not a crime. The only crime committed by the naked person is to be human. That has never been a crime. No victim - no crime.

One thing I've often wondered (yeah I'm odd) is that if a woman shaved off her own pubic hair and made a hairpiece out of her husbands beard and wore it in place of her own - would she be committing an offence if she 'flashed it' in public? If so - what would it be?

we have difference of opinions on what is the threshold between decency and obcenity in the end it's the opinion of the courts that decide.

although slightly off topic the example i'm about to recall has some bearing.

some time back whilst on picket duty we were confronted by police asking us to move on, as we were doing nothing illegal correct number of pickets etc we refused and the police walked away helpless, within half an hour they were back and insisted on us moving otherwise they'd arrest us, turns out that they managed to get a member of the public to complain about excessive noise and that's all it took.
Seems the powers to be can mobilise once they get justification of complaint.

Well - she seems a bit odd, but being odd shouldn't be an offence, or something for which she needs to be "helped" if she doesn't want it.

What is clear is that there is some kind of neighbour dispute going on, and we all know how ugly and petty they can get. If the further reporting is accurate then either they are engaged in destabilising acts against each other, or one or all of the players may have some kind of borderline personality disorder.

What also seems clear to me is that Mr Jones seized on her public nudity as at last having found something that she could be done for, and that still says, to me, that he has a prurient disposition, and for some bizarre reason thinks that children can be harmed by the sight of a naked body.

but it would seem that she's acting abit odd and when you got little kids it makes you a bit over protective and maybe their scared for their kid's safety
on top of being prudish, phaps they should all go off on a nudist holiday together.

Seems like as Pip and BAS suggest there may well be other issues...kinda like the elephant in the room, but they express there annoyances with each other (or themselves....deeper psychological issues) through other avenues rather than trying to address the issue itself, whatever it may be, if its even resolvable.

Funny, Paulbrown's post questioning BAS struck me as an example of this type of compensatory behaviour, but then, hey, some might say by mentioning him I provide another example.

There is more to this as they have a long standing feud on some ajoining land an the guy wanted to humilate the lady as some crank , where as the vast majority think he is a dirty peeping tom now ..lol
The Wright Stuff on Ch5 did this topic the other morn , an in all the calls Not one person said it was wrong for her to sunbathe naked ....

btw my wife enjoys nude sunbathing in the back garden , which is only over looked by one next door house top windows ... an if old Jeff who lives there gets his thrills this way ,who cares .... + we hardly ever get sun in Manchester ..lol
