Neighbour getting smells from our extractor fan?

B) the only other options are would involve a huge amount of work of running the ducting up the ceiling, take up the new put down floor boards in upstairs bedroom etc.
Time consuming but achievable, if you do this yourself, you make the electricians job quicker and cheaper

I can't even screw in a screw without having an issue so can't even do any DIY

"Hi I'm sorry but I think that will be to difficult to do it." Was the response exactly from one and pretty much the same response from the others in different words. They are just not interested in difficult jobs.
I think this case they do not wish to do the job, no so much for the difficulty but probably for the time and hence the cost.

What you are prepared to do, when it is for oneself, is very different to what one should attempt as an employed expert. I do all the plumbing, joinery, building, decorating work, plus anything else which needed doing, here - but I would never do it any of it for anyone else, claiming to be a professional. As said, horses, for courses, exactly as the OP has found.

If my home needed ductwork, for a cooker hood, yes I would do it, but if someone came to me and asked me to do the same job in their home, I would suggest they go find an appropriate tradesman.
Harry not looking for an argument, but can you please explain to me the difference between ventilation ducting and cable trunking ( be it plastic or metal) which I can't imagine any electrician has never fitted, as I still cannot see why an electrician is not the "appropriate tradesman" for this job. Also refering to your earlier post I imagine lots of electricians either possess their own set of core drills or know where to hire them from and how to use them. A lot of electricians I know even make good their own plasterwork when chasing cables and boxes into walls.

so can't even do any DIY
This might not be the forum for you, then

He's just winding you up. No one else reading is taking him seriously. He probably isn't either

"You're just a sparky; all sparks should buy in the services of a core drilling specialist whenever they want to put a hole larger than 20mm in a wall" is just utter cobblers. More so when the suggestion is to make it a handyman, not a core drilling specialist

The OP has proven my point, for me. He's had two electricians come and look, yet neither want the job. That is no surprise to me at all, he needs to find an appropriate trade, or do the ducting part himself, and just leave the electrical work, for the electrician - or again, do that himself.

This is the sort of job my mate would do as a 'Weekender', not for a lower price but to ensure the property owner would be in. He his a one man do it all type of builder.

I note the original poster hasn't given any idea of their location in the country so even if a member could help our hands are a bit tied. I think to resolve his issue he needs to find someone like my Mate not an electrician or a big company.

Hi yes I am West of Scotland. So if you know anyone like this then great. Actually been 3 electricians who have said its just too difficult or just too much work and not replied back to me when I was following up if they are happy to do it.

I'm not good at DIY so isn't this a good forum to be on?

Rather than all the stress you are putting yourself through (7 pages on here !) .
Look up a nearby ventilation service and explain your problem .
Your job may be to small for them but its possible they could steer you to someone who would do it possibly a kitchen fitter they work with .
