Exactly what I do. There are lots of ways around the idiocy. But with typical EU short sightedness they have made the problem WORSE. They dont work - they are a faff - you cannot drink straight out of the bottle - so I will use a cup/ throw away plastic - or waste water to wash said cup. And worse yet they have doubled the problem because the best way to get them to work properly is to do this. Now I have a cap that works and TWO bits of plastic.View attachment 360275
Implemented by the Tories when they didn't have to.Straws there's another stupid EU think with consequences
and where does that say the tories brought it in for the UK ?Directive (EU) 2019/904 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2019 on the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment (Text with EEA relevance)
Directive (EU) 2019/904 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2019 on the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment (Text with EEA relevance)www.legislation.gov.uk
Didn't need to be implemented until after we had left. The Tories still chose to do it. They didn't have to.

Never had Denso as an armchair expert on the plastic bottle manufacturing industry - but there you go.
Anyway, in common with some others on here I just automatically rip the cap off first time I open a plastic bottle.
Sshh...But we took our sovereignty back.
I can use them fineBut with typical EU short sightedness they have made the problem WORSE. But you voted Brexit to “get back control”Nothing to do with the last government. -----
"While it’s an EU policy to get rid of them, it has had knock on effects in other countries. Companies mass produce bottles and caps so it is complicated to make different styles for different countries. As a result major drinks companies are also rolling out the new caps in non-EU countries, like the UK, even though they are not legally obliged to."
You mean the usual type of thread where Denso posts facts and makes the Daily Mail readers look stoopidUsual type of thread that Denso manages to convert into a trolling exercise. A few will have a ***k over him but best ignored imco.
...are not banned.Straws
so “get back control” not working out too well.and where does that say the tories brought it in for the UK ?
Correct. They introduced the single use plastics directive as part of Environmental Protection. No no no - its the Tories fault - its always the Tories fault.
