Plenty of 4* hotels in the U.K. for less than £160 a night
I don't doubt it. I bet there are loads of cheap shítholes in Canvey Island, for less than half that. I don't see that it has any bearing on the shítholes the migrants are being kept in or what it costs to keep them 24/7.

You'd be hard pushed to find a 2 star hotel on Canvey. Whenever I’ve been to Canvey, I always feel there should be a local dangling his feet over the edge of the bridge while playing a banjo.

I think what has been proven is the label 4 * means very little. Very, very little, just look at the example filly tried to highlight for example.

And just because any hotel claims 4*, it doesn't mean that it is, or that the government is paying the "usual" (whatever that is) going rate. Most hotels have variable rates, even if booking 3 rooms for example. A block booking, at a quiet hotel is going to attract preferential rates.

But it all distracts from why we are having to pay for any accomodation, and that is the real issue.

It's basic human rights and treating mainly persecuted people humanely.

How on earth that is too much for some people is beyond me.

Plus we make them all illegal immediately and then can't process.

Needs some adults to get on top of it all.
Don't forget they've passed several safe countries before arriving in UK.
If I was running from trouble I would ask for help in the first safe country.
Unfortunately most of the EU heavens don't give anything to asylum seekers apart from slums to camp in and some very basic food.
There's a processing camp in my area in Italy and it's truly a campsite.
Migrants run away as soon as they can.

Could include them, absolutely, along with a long list of other deserving groups. No issue with that.
That’s right but was it you who refused to answer or went all soppy when I asked whether we should put our old, frail and homeless people before illegal immigrants? I think it was.

All missing the issue though.

There are lots here, more still arriving.

What to do? Ignore them and shout at the clouds? Or adult action
