Isao Tomita was a contemporary of his but is less well known. He died in 2016 and i recommend his version of Holst's 'The Planet Suite' - the opening to 'Mars' blew my tiny mind when i first heard it.

Nigel Lawson, a former British finance minister who was an architect of Margaret Thatcher's economic reforms but fell out with her over what would become the European Union, has died at the age of 91, British media reported on Monday.

Lawson used his platform in the Lords to express scepticism of man-made climate change.
In 2016 he became the chairman of Vote Leave, the group which led the campaign for the UK's exit from the EU. He described Brexit as a "historic opportunity" to finish the job Thatcher had started.

What ambition?
He was Chancellor and wasn't going to make PM. In fact, he was backing Heseltine for PM but in the event, Major got in.
He advised magge to quit like many other so called loyal ministers, to back heselltine speaks for itself a an act of treachery, as it was heselltine that brought her down.
