Right to buy wasn’t brilliant but councils have sold a lot more properties.
I know a gas engineer and what the council pay him to fit a standard combi is unbelievable! Close to twice the price you’d expect to pay.

The issue is not the competitive tendering, but the burden of terms placed on suppliers.

So that’s a failure of the out sourcing model then
But the issue is also private companies whose interest lies solely in shareholders and not customers.
They don’t care if it fails either. Carillion is a perfect example of moral hazard.
Housing association don’t run their maintenance side or outsourcing of maintenance at a loss
Therefore they make a profit.
