Our waters ....No fishing !

the UK chose to leave, why should the EU give anything up.

They're not, our territorial waters belong to us and always have. As Motorbiking said, as an independent island nation our territorial waters are clearly defined in international law.

The EU are putting fishing first because they are setting the sequencing. They know fishing is politically charged in the UK, so they want an agreement before moving on.

Fishing is a damn sight less politically charged than it is in France.

Whichever way this gets played, it all comes back to one thing: no deal will be more damaging to the UK.

Wrong, and remember that deal or no deal, Boris has almost a full term in power still, many of the EU leaders are approaching an election.

Boris is training his supporters to want a no-deal, which he now calls the "Australia Option"

Actually that's a common error and a trap many make. There are no rules, there is no need for give and take. Its all about need.

If I start and 10 and you start at 5, we don't have to meet in the middle.

If there is no give and take, there is no negotiation.

Pure speculation on your part.
The problematic areas were said to range from the maintenance of a level playing field for British and European businesses to the role of the European court of justice and conditions on future access for European fishing fleets to British waters.

Not the same as saying no trade deal without access, but they're pretty focused on it.

Be interesting, prove how it's not speculation when a deal hasn't been done, or do us all a favour and stop talking out of your back passage.
calm down and get with the real world

all trade negotiation experts agree: without access to fishing, there will be no trade deal.

only wild speculations being made by brexiteers that are still living in a cake and eat it fantasy land believe UK will get back fishing.....they are indeed spouting out of their back passage

dont forget Johnson signed the political declaration that included the following:

Within the context of the overall economic partnership the Parties should establish a new fisheries agreement on, inter alia, access to waters and quota shares

Speculation, too. You're making no sense.

Playing devils advocate, that could be met with a document stating no access and no quota. If everyone signs off on it then it meets the documented requirements.

Of course if we play scorched water then so will the EU on things we actually care about, like finance.
