For those who put great store in ethnicity or 'race', I suppose it is very important.
That was not the point made; rather that as long as someone thinks something, their true circumstances disappear.
Yet you keep mocking Transam for trying.

I am not talking about nationality. It's eminently possible for you to be an Afro-British person living in Portugal with dual nationalities.
Except I am not (Afro-British) so how do I go about getting the Afro part?

Ethnicity is of no importance to me in my interaction with others. But I can accept their importance if they wish to make it important.
You mean "its" importance.
Obviously it cannot be important to you when you interact with them as there is no way of telling which ethnicity they have chosen to be that day.

Similarly, gender or sex is of no importance to me in my social interaction, but I can respect others views if they wish it to be important in our interaction.
Same as ethnicity for gender. Sex might be very important.
Why then do you go on about it so much?

So, it's all in the mind; nothing else matters.

I suppose a state of mind is pretty important as long as the state of mind is in congruence with actuality. Which is in contrast with your view, that the mind can over ride reality.

Yet you keep mocking Transam for trying.
Something to do with his state of mind, not being in congruence with reality, perchance? Maybe he thinks like you, that the mind can overcome reality.

It was an imaginary scenario, not a suggestion.

Ethnicity is of no importance to me in my interaction with others. But I can accept their importance if they wish to make it important.
You mean "its" importance.
That is what I was referring to.
Obviously it cannot be important to you when you interact with them as there is no way of telling which ethnicity they have chosen to be that day.
No-one suggested that anyone is changing ethnicity in reality. It was just a possible idea that we were exploring. It doesn't mean it actually happens.

It is isn't in a platonic interaction. it might be for you, It isn't for me.

Why then do you go on about it so much?
I'm just responding to others comments, just like you are to mine.

I sense the tide slowly turning against the tories, nothing lasts forever and I suspect the tide would be turning quicker if the opposition wasn't so insipid.

When I go shopping with my Mummy, if I'm a good boy, I get to have a go in the car outside the shop with the flashing lights, then I can pretend to be a policeman.

You're not supposed to stand in front of it, with your hand raised, waving the pedestrians across.

The ones round our way are the bestest, they're still a tanner a go. ;) But we do live in a gated community, well it's more of a castle, really.

You always do this. You say something, then blame the respondent for mentioning it and causing lengthy threads trying to remind you of what has been said.

It is you who keeps saying that if someone merely believes something it can become so, like men stating they are women or me stating that I have Afro-British ethnicity.

Stop talking absolute rubbish and blaming other people for what you have said.

How come this thread has become about race….yet Himmie isn’t involved….or is angleeyes himmie

Er you were the one that started the long rambling posts, Post number 67, this page, just seven posts ago.

Transitioning isn't something that is incongruent with reality, quite the opposite, it is reality and a state of the mind converging into congruency.

Stop talking absolute rubbish and blaming other people for what you have said.
The rubbish is emanating from you. As are the false allegations, like alleging I said you were Afro-British. You need to do a reality check by re-reading the earlier posts.

On an entirely different questionr

If I accept half a million quid over five years to further the interests of a couple of companies, and I use my position as a member of the government to influence national policy in their favour, despite this being forbidden

When I am found out, and given a teeny slap on the wrist for breaking the rules of my employment

Should I be rewarded by being given a seat in the House of Lords?

George Eustice: It's very clear Owen Paterson won't get a peerage (msn.com)

Useless Eustice is the man who did a 24-hour U-turn when his sewage orders backfired.

no, when a man says "I am a woman" and expects us to believe it, that is the opposite of reality.
