Plod has 'regrets'...

We're not a police state but certain elements of the tory party would move us there.
We are there already!

Or maybe you are ignoring the fact that we can't protest against anything anymore should the powers that be object?

Trafalgar Square is more than half a mile from Westminster Abbey.
It matters not whether it is half a mile a way or hundreds of miles away...

Plod as political/corporate enforcers are now the thought police...

The right wing loonies will very soon realise what that actually means, and we'll then hear them squealing the loudest!

All this sounds very chilling. I doubt this 'police state' you speak of will have any effects on my freedoms, I doubt I will be arrested or harassed and you certainly won't hear me 'squealing', not even quietly.

You might on the other hand hear me PMSL every time I read about lefty rabble rousers being rounded up and thrown into the cells for the night.

And that is how your rights get taken away from you.

You don't have to go and protest, to recognise the need for it to be allowed. Never been on 1, and feel it very unlikely that I would ever feel the need to do so. But it is an important right to have, as 1 Tory MP recognised and spoke out about. Just the 1 though, which tells you a lot.

Why shouldn't protesting at an event be lawful?

Otherwise what is the point

Meanwhile plod is spreading more lies about 'fake stewards' and 'bottles of paint' to distract from their dystopian nightmare behaviour...

But just out of interest, does anyone believe that someone should be arrested because someone whispers in 'plod's shell like' that something might happen?

They seem to ignore tip offs over ordinary crime, but then I guess royalty/politicians are above their 'treat the rest like scum' radar!
Because your protest should also not disrupt my peaceful enjoyment.

Many thousands of people wanted to attend and cheer the coronation, which should not be disrupted by placard waiving protesters intent on spoiling their view and being heard. Just as those who want to 'boo' military parades on "religious" grounds should also not be permitted if it spoils other people's enjoyment.

Its a small crowded country, we have to try to get along.

"Spoiling their view"

They did not threaten to black out TV coversge

And there were not enough of them to bury Westminster Abbey with their bodies

In your rush to disagree with me, you forget we are on this occasion mostly aligned.

Some of these protests were pre arranged. They could have been contained in an agreed area. But were arrested instead.

Most likely they won't pre arrange in the future and make the protest more visible, more intrusive and much more difficult to control.

Looks like an own goal to me, on top of the removal of rights generally.

I can imagine those standing behind wouldn't have seen much

At the end of the day protest peaceful or violent is a matter of moral conscience.

Blup
