Stood in John Lewis near the entrance a few years back a guy was blatantly shoving boxes of perfume int his rucksack, so I bring it to the attention of the staff who have its seems also by now clocked what's going and am informed that apparently JL policy is not to challenge shoplifters, he just walked out with his rucksack.

Stayed there 10 years ago when it was the Thistle Tower. Great location and nice Indian in St Katherine's Dock next door.
We used to go up there about 40 years ago as they did a cracking carvery in the hotel. Some things I remember about it - it once cost me £6 to park (bloody expensive at the time), there used to be a woman playing a harp outside the restaurant, part of the Sweeny movie was shot there and my mate who was a Eurobond dealer in the eighties dropped a client off there in a taxi then asked to be taken home to East Ham. He'd had a fair bit to drink. The cabbie refused so he said "I ain't paying you", got out and walked off. As he was walking down the service road round the back, three cabbies roared up and kicked the shît out of him. He woke up in hospital with bruising all over and a broken nose. Happy days!

Was last week so hope that's OK as a one off as you don't see this everyday in the uk

Lion eating. Well go look.

Who knew there was a waiting list so I read. o_O

We’ve just rehomed two cats, Milka and Groszek (came from a polish family).

I still can’t tell the difference between them :)

Milka's the one on the right.
What's the deal with the treated timber framework under the window, are you going to over clad it?

Funnily enough you are correct, Milka is slightly smaller.

Yeah, I’ve got cedar cladding to cover the 70s stonework…just not the time to fit it!

, part of the Sweeny movie was shot there

40 years ago used to stay at the London Penta Hotel, then the tallest hotel in London, right next to Gloucester Rd undergroud station. The Gloucester Hotel is very close and some of the Sweeney movie was shot there too. Alas, a few years before we visited.
