20 years SC.............i married far too young................

I know two women who did that. They both bought into the Mills and Boon dream lock, stock and barrel.   I won't go into too many details in case they work out who they are but in one case her knight in shining armour transformed into a green-eyed monster almost before the ink on the license was dry.   A divorce followed soon after.

The other married a man who was honest, hardworking, impeccably mannered - in many ways a perfect gentleman. But there was no love. :( :( :( The marriage ran on empty for years and, although it's pure speculation, I think it came to an end when, quite by accident, he found the real thing with somebody else.

And then there was a friend of mine who, long ago, got on the same train every day just to sit beside a girl he fancied. "Oh, how romantic!" do I here you say? Their marriage lasted two years. :( :( :(

But there are, and can be, exceptions.

I know some of them too: one who's old enough to be her father and another who's (almost) young enough to be her son. They've been together for longer than I can remember. :D :D :D

What is the point of wedlock? me and mrs pred have been together nearly 30yrs, we've both been married, got the T shirt thankyou very much, but why get remarried, stay single, keep each other on your toes, where would you get wed, in a church? are you religous? does that bit of paper mean so much? tie the knot and before you know it you'll be getting a divorce.

If you feel the need to 'keep each other on your toes' then I agree. Don't get married because that's not real love. I would go further and say that, if you feel that you need to be married for anything other than religious reasons, don't do it.

And finally --

If you think you need a so-called pre-nupt, DON'T DO IT! :!: :!: :!:

That's a bit harsh but it can happen and I know one woman to whom it did. :( :( :( (See my earlier post).
