Well my view on the caper

I am
Against

Any protest about any thing that causes disruption in my travels / going about my bussiness

Also another example was in tescos a good while back

An entire isle was closed off at both ends as some fruit cake had an episode she was throwing stuff about banging her head on the floor screaming down her phone numerous staff members standing at both ends doing nowt

I wanted tea bags and was unable to get them

Yes exactly

You’re very brave. I wouldn’t want a tea bagging off some crazy who was screaming down her phone. Tesco staff did you a solid

So your argument is: “if you pay a lot of tax you have a right to tax dodging loopholes”
They just shove him to the front of the protest. He's there to convince gullible twonks like biking from the boatyard. They can clog the streets of London and even vandalise a small village. Ok in biking's eyes because they keep their women in their place, wear woolly ties, Barbour wellies and dreadful corduroy trousers.

Those big bushy eyebrows and ruddy cheeks, don't fool me none.

Farmers protest is warranted....
Is it? Firstly, there is a dispute about what farms are actually worth - hopefully someone sane and sensible is looking into that.

Then there is the hysterical argument farms will have to be sold off to pay "punitive IHT". Really? For a farm worth £2million, IHT will be levied at 20% on half that sum. So that's £200,000 that has to be paid. Farmer argue that their income is too small to find such a sum. I don't doubt it - that would also be true of many people inheriting a £2million house from parents. Farmers can sell assets but they then claim the farm is no longer viable. Sorry I don't buy that. That could only be true if the farm that is left - worth some £1.8million - is not viable. But you only have to google "how much money do I need to start a viable farm?" and surprise surprise, its roughly £1.8million.

Having said that the government could be targeting the tax far more cleverly at the true tax dodgers - who are not the genuine farmers. According to Strutt & Parker only 44% of land sales in 2023 went to farmers.

I suspect he’s paid more tax in his life than you.
I've paid more tax than the average common man, and less than the average billionaire OUGHT to have paid.

Does that mean I am entitled to express an opinion? Or not?

Or are you just farting irrelevant nonsense?

As usual?

Easily solved. Length of ownership, productivity of farm. Etc etc. tax due when sold.
