reactivate blank socket

Hi,

I have blank socket in my bedroom, I decided to take advantage of this and buy a new socket to install. However the cables are not live. On the same wall there is another socket which I think the circuit is coming from. Does anyone know how I can reactivate cables?.

not without testing to find out where the cables in the blanked off socket come from for starters. it could be an old storage heater supply

My thought too, especially if there are more around the house.
Is there a second consumer unit/fusebox, possibly labelled 'heaters'?

One needs to be so careful with ring finals and un-fused spurs. So easy when reconnecting to end up with multi-sockets on one un-fused spur.
