Reduction in the size of UK Army

had corbyn got into power ...

stop trying to divert the issue by blaming somebody who is not making the decisions.

If anything, a global pandemic raises security risks, and reminds us how important the NHS is. Cutting armed forces at a time when so many countries are rattling their sabres and becoming increasingly bold and aggressive is not a great idea. As pointed out already - our army is no longer strong enough to defend the Falklands. That is a pretty drastic reduction in strength.

not trying to divert the issue,

my point was that what politicians say and then do is and has always been completely different.

2 years ago 2019, we had the 8th largest armed forces in the world.

Focus on fact then, not on what might have happened if somebody else was in power.
Focus on the man that is in power.

your clearly not getting the point.

all politicians do the same thing, even down to local level

And do you think they should therefore be permitted?

Or do you think they should be watched, called out, and made to correct or atone for their sins?

no, my point was and is, it is not special to boris like some on here like to make out

it doesn't need to be.

though johnson is a particularly dishonest and untrustworthy man and politician

Saying "they all do it" is no excuse.

OK, maybe they all do a bit. But we are specifically talking about Boris Johnson cutting the British military.

It's a bit like, hiring a builder who does a crap job, and then just say "oh, all builders do crap jobs sometimes, just imagine if you hired a blind, one armed builder just out of college, it'd be even worse!".
You might be right, but it doesn't change the fact that the one you've asked to do the job they promised has gone and screwed you.

Than again there are some in here who supported and voted for a bloke who wanted to be rid of the army and come out of nato ;)

The same Bojo who made the manifesto pledge in the last election he would not cut troop numbers.

You mean pushing the lie to defend Bojo. Bojo repeated that lie again in the commons today.

Hasn't NATO been redundant for years now? What do they do now? What have they done in the last 20 years?

Dunno

may be probably made the Russians think twice whilst dealing with the Turks in Syria and retaliating for there downed fighter jet the Turks shot down

.... "Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump said that the United States should not automatically honor nato’s core principle of mutual defense, specifically if Russia invaded several newer members of the alliance, the three strategic Baltic states and former Soviet republics—Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. " https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/what-does-nato-do-anyway

There you go. Gotta be true!
