Running a current through garage door handle?

I have witnessed a very similar incident Ban but instead sort them out to. They touch your property, that gives you the right (not according to law though) to do the same with their house.

And what if in the next round instead of torching your car they torch your house with you inside?

We do need the police, that buffer twixt us and the bad guys ... It appears that system when placed under test is sadly lacking, I wonder if this is partly a 'postcode' situation ?
My previous home was in a nice little area ... which perceptibly slipped into the mire around the late 80's, accompanied by, I don't know if a cause, the explosion of relatively cheap rented housing in the area.
We moved on as many do ... ok 'til the next lot !!

In my mind it is morally acceptable to restrain an intruder by any means necessary (and I mean ANY means). Remembering that 90% of the time such people come from a long and rich heritage of scum (and usually breed like rats), they would no doubt think that you were in the wrong for carrying out your moral and social duty by breaking their boy's legs.

Glad to see the police decided against a prosecution for your bone-breaking friend, shame their friends came back though. Interesting (and good) to hear that they thought a jury would find him innocent.

I have seen beamed, invisible electric fences in pet shops to keep dogs in a garden. Might these be adapted for what you want?

Or maybe you could smear something nasty on the handle. Heh heh heh.

Erm, a car and some rabbit food! However, next door's garage contains a load of racing motorbikes which the two guys strip down and rebuild etc etc.............the conclusion being the dopey criminals have probably had a go at the wrong garage.

However, that doesn't help me...........

You could try and modify a car ignition system to do the job, could modify the plastic door handle and embed two metal prongs into it. When the intruder touches the handle/prongs they get a nice 20,000 volts through their hand.

Someone carried out the above sollution with great result,no more breaking into his shed,even left a burnt finger print on the door handle.

I had concidered in my own garden teh infared beams that stop garage doors closing when the beam is broken ( stops children and pets getting squashed)
rig these up to an arctic lorry fog horn system, make sure the beams are 4ft off the ground and if you can get them with a regulated beam set it on lowest sensativity, so as not to be set of by moths bats etc:
stagger each set at different hieghts and places

ALso our garage is 2 roads away and we have bolts in the groud that have removable metal plates these are padlocked each night and sit tight against the corners of the door so the up and over cant be used nor can the corners be pulled up.

If it is possible to make your garage door open out wards you could make it work the same way. the only other option they have then is window and you can bar them.

and yes the country is an ass, and its all on purpose with a hidden agenda.
If someone is on my land or in my home with children or any loved ones asleep upstairs then i belive i should have the right to impose what ever force i demeed fit at the time, which would be a shotgun if i had one.

In South Africa there is a company selling flame throwers that shoot up from under your car should anyone attempt to carjack you and its legal. After all its self defense right?
I have had my van broken into 6 times in as many years and lost drills, tools etc and I would have no problem whatsoever in fitting anything that kills these people. They are stealing from working men who need those tools to put food on the table at home for their families.
As previously said if they got into my house and intend to steal armed with knives then again if I had a shotgun Id use it.
The law in this country is a joke.
