I believe it breaches refugee convention and ECHR.

but which specific part of those international laws doesn’t seem to have been mentioned in the media, as you point out
Perhaps you should mention those international laws that you believe have been broken here then. After all, you say you believe it so go ahead and show us why you believe it.

Just watching news .. Patel says this is too stop people smuggling by criminal gangs.

Why? People will still flee war zones and persecution, and gangs will still send them. That's the problem with no managed safe routes - people are forced to pay criminals to help.

The gangs aren't going to tell their customers they might end up in Africa, that just want the money.

Word will rapidly spread and they will still have the money they would have paid the traffickers. A little worse off, but not much and with the chance of legal entry so a win, win for them, no need to hide when they get here.

but Australia and Israel are proof it doesn’t work

state sponsored trafficking is awfully expensive.

but I’m sure some mates of Tories will get very rich

Serco and G4s, both large tory party donors have offices in Rwanda - how awfully handy

But when Israel tried it, it didn’t stop trafficking

and Australia is doing it….at huge cost. It’s cost them around 400 million to relocate 200 people.
Its not about the marginal cost, its about changing the behaviour of the people trying to cross the channel.

No, that’s not the real reason.

The real reason is poll ratings for Johnson, it’s a publicity stunt. That’s it
Johnson is famous for claiming victory from failure

and if it costs a fortune, we’ll Tory mates will make loads of money - it’s what the Tories do, they siphon off money into private contracts

I'm not bothered. I just want the government I voted for to do something about illegal immigration and people dying.

Not bothered with ratings

would you like me to post facts about the damage Brexit has done to British farming?
You keep saying that but I'm not seeing any difference in my local supermarket. Plenty of produce there. What damage are you talking about? Post the facts that are affecting you and me.

your smug posting of a side issue doesn’t change facts

It's not smug it's more about the I'm alright Jack brigade who want cheap labour for their own gain

You could argue that about any policy being a publicity stunt if the government propose a policy that people want.

Most of the people i know (other than those that just hate anything boris or the tories do) think its a good policy. I certainly do.

Anti-Europeans spent more than 40 years whining and lying about the EU.
You are getting confused between Europe and Europeans and the eu. I (and possibly many other Brexit supporters) have nothing against Europe and Europeans, I just didn't want to be in the eu. Common market would have sufficed .
