Savile again

So what perturbs me is how you arrived at your ‘hang him if he were alive’ position right from the start before so many came out to speak against him.

If you read back to the first thread I was prepared to be open minded at the start. That went out of the window as soon as I saw those victims speak. It's called empathy or common sense, which most people hearing those stories displayed. Including the police yesterday who said he was a predatory pervert after hearing some of the stories related to them about him.

Like I said, if a million Christians all tell you there is absolutely no doubt there’s a god, (as indeed they would), the way you have approached this whole matter would be more than sufficient for you to believe in god or indeed anything else where there are great numbers saying the Earth is flat.

The thing you miss is that the story has to be convincing, that's where judgement comes in.

But given that his own family have had his stone removed must mean one of two things: They think he’s guilty too or someone will desecrate it. If the later, then what better place than in a public toilet for those who have made up their minds.

The family arranged for it to be removed, smashed up, and sent to landfill days ago.

Hec, don’t get me wrong. It’s a prerequisite, or should be, to be empathetic and sympathetic in the NHS. A black SOH helps too mind

If you are or have been a father and amongst children, you will have first hand knowledge of how they can come out with some complete and utter whoppers! Yes? So too can adults of course.

In the absence of a true truth drug that works we have kinda depended on weight of evidence and ‘twelve good men and true’. Maybe it says more about my circle of friends but I don’t even know that many who are both good and true.

But that’s the best we can hope for. Call me cynical if you like, but then I have much to be cynical about having been to the University of Life. I’m such a drama queen. :D

My heart thinks, believes, he’s a complete perv and c*nt. But my head rules and my walnut-sized brain says wait for the outcome of a full and proper investigation. If he’s guilty I want, more than anything else, each and every person complicit or who turned a bind eye in his disgusting acts dragged over hot coals!

We’re not so different methinks, we both want justice and, (dare I use the overused ad nauseum word), transparency.

You know as well as anyone that he was a beast, but you still stick to your "not until convicted by a jury" thinking.
It doesn't apply here, he's dead. The police even said that they can't conduct a criminal investigation into him, they are conducting one into who may have helped him and rightly so.

Oh, I didn't know that. Or is this just what they have told us? Any impartial witnesses or proof to it?

Well, I think they should consider getting him exhumed too. Why should his last wish to be placed at an angle to watch over the sea be honoured when, if proven, he has dishonoured so many?

If it’s a nice view just turn him over to expose his arse so we have somewhere to park a bicycle and his skull will be face down in the dirt.

Now you're talking!
I wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of you if we met. You’d probably deck me if ten others in the pub said “he just called you a nob!”. ;)

Now you're insulting my intelligence.
The fact that I among millions of others was quicker than you to realise Savile was a perv is not because I don't understand the importance of the presumption of innocence or the damage false allegations can cause.
It's just because we're a bit quicker on the uptake. ;)

Just so long as you remember the early bird may get the worm but it's the second mouse that get’s the cheese. ;)

The evidence and testimonies are so damning now as to be pretty much conclusive; it just needs the fat lady to sing. I’m not so much interested in him now, the man, as I am the cover-ups and self-interest which worked in his favour. I also have a better understanding of how it’s entirely possible for victims, all however many, either to not speak out or hit a brick wall. :(

I’m not ‘into’ the blame culture but I hope they, each and every one, get some form of compensation, although I expect for many just knowing that he’s been outed at long last will in itself lift a huge weight off their backs. I hope so; I really do...

(Edit/add: Makes me wonder if something like this could happen today)

what else could they do with it?

Irrespective of the outcome of any enquiry. The press frenzy ensured it would be damaged.

Have a look in the press, theres 2 false photos ive seen. no writing even though it would be ground off, different thicknesses of material, the material not as shiny as it should be, material not covered in cutting dust from the grinder.

What' is jimmy the nonces ex possesions worth nowadays?.

What I find totally unacceptable, is the retired nurse on TV this morning saying she saw him abusing a child, with brain injuries in hospital. She then goes on to say, she didn't say anything until now. FFS this sort of abuse is just as unacceptable today as it was back then. She should hang her head in shame that she didn't speak up almost 40 yrs ago.

the point I was making is it now, and always will be, subject to vandalism/abuse if it was left in tact due the number of people that have already 'found him guilty' - before any enquiry.
And please don't read that as support for him,.
