Not sure if these are technically sink holes - but just where water washes the ground away.... but still, wouldn't like to end up in that!

I used to live close to that location. Haven't read any report as to whether anyone was in the vehicle at the time, hope not.
As for the car I guess it will be a write-off, especially considering the extra electrics you get in a milk float.

Might have been a culvert beneath the road, or even a water or drainage pipe that has been leaking for years, and undermining the foundation.
