That is too extreme a comment as what he is saying is fundamentally correct with one rider - what is Putin at really.

One aspect we will never know now is if Ukraine remaining neutral would have prevented what is going on now. Crimea is much like the west bank. Illegal but no one would have done anything about it. Russia gets sanctions. USA feels that the west bank being illegal is disgusting. Their foreign man talking to another group with a number of countries in it. Seems they joined it rather recently.

The previous battle of Minsk cost the Red Army 470,000 and the Germans 12,157 or somewhat over ( ;) WIki, I love the 157 part) Is it worth this sort of thing? NATO aspects where a red line on both sides.

There is another point as well. Russia position a load of troops etc and start talking. No joy. They either attack or withdraw. Now they carry on or withdraw.

We will never know.

These aircraft are interesting. They need a base with a runway and stuff to use them. Russia are probably acting out of Russia. Little heard about one Ukrainian airports now and another reported as being totally destroyed. A civilian one - doesn't matter it has a runway so can be used.

China seems to be hedging its bets further with Ukraine. I posted a few days ago that China had said it would 'protect' it's financial position with regards Russia, which I take to mean they will definitely be holding Russia at a financial arm's length. Two things more recently is that Chinese students, finally returning home from Ukraine, have heavily criticised the response from China. It has been fairly big news with students reporting the Russian 'invasion' and indiscriminate aggression, bombing and killing of civilians. And then, this morning, BBC World News reported that China is sending aid to Ukraine. So, some way short of condemnation but if Putin was banking on China going 'all in' with him, he might be feeling a bit less chirpy this morning.
 
The UK media is very careful not to :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: at the USA for them bricking it when Poland that was being wound up by the USA to hand planes to the Ukraine.
Poland played a blinder and did not want to be attacked by Putin so as it was the Americans banging on about giving them the jets they would but they/USA did not have MIG/SU jet they could not. So Polan said here you are you can have ours and do what you liek with them and Bidne then soiled
his pants along with the vice president.

As I've said several times before, I hold the UK & USA along with some support of other western puppet countries for winding up Ukraine to joine nATO etc that has led to this along with what was going on within Ukraine - read the link I posted from the DM the other day.

Now the USA & UK have been played big style by Poland who has offered the USA jets as the USA & UK where chatting behind the scenes that they would give jets but dont have Russian type jet fighters. So Poland said, here you go have them and do as you wish!!! The USA&Uk re good at ****-stirring but caught with their pants down. Why not carry the put eh planes on usa carrier then the ukrainians can fly them off them and if that is not feasible have them loaded onto their ships - yes caught out read handed talking big but prepared to do f all rightly so as it will lead to a bigger conflict but don't say to others what you are not prepared to do.
 
The migs make more sense now. Not feasible. It seems the idea was get them into a USA base in Germany and Ukrainians to fly them from there. F16 gifts if correct may make sense for another reason. If you want to run Migs you need Russian bits. The F16 doesn't appear to be a huge jump up from them.

Fundamentally correct or not? Well if Russia attacks a NATO country the response is clearly stated. That actually in some ways is part of the current problem.

IMO, better to concentrate on immediate ceasefire looks like Putin is desperate for one when he says somehting like this "in no hurry" imo he is
as his own turn on him

USA caught out winding up Poland so Poland played their hand and offered the jets free of charge and let the USA pass them on to the Ukraine. But, oh no, we/usa can't do that as it may cause a bigger conflict. WTF, they are pretending they did not know that when telling Poland to hand them over.

Seems we are going to send in surface to air missiles. Boris mentioned, Truss confirmed in the USA a short time ago.

More talks about oil from currently sanctioned places and OPEC+. Blinken reckons only if humanitarian aspects are included. Iran looks to be a problem as Russia was involved in the solution. They have asked if this aspect is on given sanctions.

Yet more companies pull out of Russia. Even MotherCare which caused their shares to drop as they had a lot of business there. Blinken mentioned Putin has wiped out 30 years of integration with the "rest" of the world. Assume he means business as politically I don't think that has ever been complete.

I didn’t realise President Zelensky spoke English - just seen him in an interview and he spoke fluent English.

What would be the implication of this?

I was speaking to a couple of Lithuanians guys who had served in the military who said the Russians basically sign you up, hand you a gun and a uniform and that’s you a soldier, then when they die in battle they have mobile incinerator units to dispose of them.

Seems pretty standard from them.

reports of hand to hand fighting between Russians and ukranians on the out skirts of Kyiv ?????
